Premier League

The Premier League is the top professional football (soccer) league in England, widely regarded as one of the most competitive and popular leagues in the world. Established in 1992, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the English Football League (EFL) Championship. The league consists of 20 teams that compete annually from August to May, with each team playing 38 matches—19 at home and 19 away.

Points are awarded based on match outcomes: three points for a win, one point for a draw, and none for a loss. At the end of the season, the team with the most points is crowned the champion, while the bottom three teams are relegated to the Championship. The Premier League attracts top talent from around the globe and enjoys a massive international following, facilitated by lucrative broadcasting deals and sponsorships. It contributes significantly to the culture of football in England and has a considerable financial impact on the sport.
