House of Lords

The House of Lords is one of the two chambers of the Parliament of the United Kingdom, the other being the House of Commons. It is primarily composed of appointed members, including life peers, bishops, and hereditary peers. The House of Lords plays a key role in the legislative process, reviewing and suggesting amendments to legislation proposed by the House of Commons. While it does not have the same legislative power as the Commons, it can delay legislation and offer scrutiny and debate. Members of the House of Lords, known as Lords, bring various expertise and experience to the discussions, contributing to the development of laws and public policy. The House also carries out important functions such as examining public policy and serving on committees that investigate specific issues.
